Chuck and Mary Ann: Great to talk to Squire Heubusch this week. Now that the "off" is just about over; time to get focused for week 1 and another "cocktail" ;...how about a single malt chaser?? Mary Lou and I send our very best wishes and are marking the calendar until we can get closer to give a howdy in person (second week in August is almost here). Hugs around to you both, and will keep checking the site ....thanks Krista and Steve for all the work, it is a fantastic way of staying in touch and let your DAD rest. Cheers....Jay and ML

Chuck,
Just wanted to say hi. It's good to hear about how much easier on you this new regimen is. Keep fighting! We're praying.
I notice that you were able to eat some meat. Jim would love to fix you his sausage "stuff" that you like so much. I wonder if you think you could handle it or if it might be too much?
We'll talk. Right now he's on a long trip (13 day) around the world.

Chuck: hope all is going well. When Sally was going through chemo, she lost the desire to eat most foods. Even hated chocolate. But there was one recipe that she could tolerate better than any other and that actually tasted good to her. So I thought I would pass it on to you. It is a little inexact becasue of the consistency of the fruit during the season. Hope it helps. Remember to keep a positive attitude. Best regards,
pete g.
Fruit Smoothie

3 to 4 peaches, peeled and sliced, stones removed
6-ounce carton of Peach yogurt (or for a richer taste, use peach or vanilla ice cream)
¼ to ½ Cup milk
4 to 6 ice cubes
¼ tsp peach extract (or vanilla extract)
2 to 4 packets of sweetener, or sugar
12-ounce can of peach nectar (look in the Hispanic food section for Jumex or Goya brands)

Place peach slices in blender. Add milk and 2/3 can of nectar and blend until completely chopped. (May have to push down with a spatula) If too thick, add more nectar. If still too thick add a little more milk. Add yogurt, and add sweetener to taste. Add ice cubes and blend. [Should be the consistency of a McDonalds Thickshake.] Serve with a straw.

Yield: 2 very large servings.

(Can also make this from strawberries, apricots, etc. Just switch to appropriate yogurt, extract and nectar flavors.)
